Right now, I’m getting into the swing of college. My classes this year have been incredibly difficult, as I dove into classes for my major right away (I’m a freshman). This semester I’m really honing in on my Python skills, as well as practicing science communication.
I’m also working on my health and fitness, learning to use the Makerspaces on campus, and singing in UNC Wesley’s worship band. I spend most of my free time hanging out with friends, playing piano, and watching Lost.

Right now, I’m taking advantage of a much needed summer break. I’m focusing on my health: trying new recipes, and new ways to exercise. I’m practicing mindfulness, doing a lot of reading, singing, and playing piano.
I’m also starting a new internship at 100 Gardens, a non-profit that uses aquaponics gardens for education and outreach to schools and prisons. Their mission of sustainability aligns with my personal values, and I could not be more thrilled to be spending my time there this summer.
Outside of that, I’m preparing for my transition into college. I’m getting ready to have my own dorm room, registering for classes, and spending lots of time with my family. I think I’ll miss my cat the most. So now is a time of resting and recharging, and preparing for all the good things to come.
